OUR SERVICES
The gold-standard autism intervention, delivered by certified BCBAs and trained behaviour therapists.
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is a scientific, evidence-based approach to understanding and changing behaviour. Rooted in decades of research, ABA examines how behaviours are learned and how the environment influences them — then applies that knowledge to help children acquire meaningful new skills.
ABA breaks complex skills down into small, teachable steps and uses positive reinforcement to encourage learning. When a child successfully completes a step or demonstrates a target behaviour, they receive immediate, meaningful praise or reward — making learning motivating, effective, and enjoyable.
ABA therapy is endorsed by Health Canada, the Ontario government, and leading autism organizations worldwide. Research consistently shows that high-quality, individualized ABA programs produce meaningful and lasting improvements in communication, social skills, daily living abilities, and overall quality of life for children with autism.
We begin with ABLLS-R or VB-MAPP assessments to establish a detailed baseline of your child's current skills.
Goals are set collaboratively with your family, targeting communication, social, academic, and daily living skills.
Programs are delivered in-centre or at home by trained therapists under direct BCBA supervision.
Monthly progress reports, quarterly plan reviews, and regular parent training keep your family informed and involved.
Every ABA program is tailored to your child's unique profile. Below are the core skill areas our therapists work on.
ABA therapy is effective for children across the autism spectrum, regardless of age or verbal ability. It is particularly powerful for young children, as the developing brain is most responsive to intervention — though meaningful gains are achieved at all ages.
New Horizons is an OAP-approved service provider. We accept direct OAP funding and can help your family navigate the application and billing process.
